•        Shield sb/sth from sb/sth- to protect sb/sth from danger.

•        At last- finally अन्ततः

E.g. At last the cheque arrived.

•        In place- ready to work or working

E.g. All the arrangements are now in place for their visit.

•        Intimidation- the act of frightening or threatening sb

•         undue- excessive अत्यधिक

E.g. They are taking undue advantage of the situation.

•        Conviction- दोषसिद्धि

•         inexcusable- अक्षम्य

•        Acquittal- the official decision in court that a person is not guilty of a crime. दोषमुक्ति, opposite- conviction

•        Tardy(adj.)(in doing sth)- slow to act- धीमा

E.g. The government’s tardy response to the situation has exacerbated matters.

•        Take sb for granted- don’t recognize their real value. हल्के मे लेना

•        Gratifying- pleasing and giving satisfaction. संतोषजनक

•         pathetic- pitiful, feeble दयनीय

•        Minutiae(n.)- very small details

•        Competent authority- having the power to decide sth

•        At variance (with sb/sth)- disagreeing with or opposing sb/sth के विपरीत

E.g. These conclusions are totally at variance with the evidence.

•        Testimony- evidence साक्ष्य

•        Ad hoc(adj.)- arranged or happening when necessary and not planned in advance

E.g. The meeting will be held on an ad hoc basis

•        Totter- stagger- लड़खड़ाना
